Rate tables provide accurate angular acceleration, rate, or positioning. Space Electronics offers high precision rate tables and single axis motion simulators.
For combined environmental testing our advanced rate tables feature climatic or thermal vacuum chambers.
Our rate tables are typically used to test and calibrate gyroscopes and accelerometers. They can also be integrated into test stations for missile seekers.
Space Electronics distributes Actidyn single axis rate tables in North America. Actidyn offers the best range of single axis rate tables and motion simulators available today.
We provide different types of single axis rate tables. The main characteristics of a rate table are:
• payload capacity (maximum weight and size)
• size of mounting plate
• types of connections (which can include slip rings, fiber optic rotary joints, and fluid rotary joints) and computer interfaces (RS232, Ethernet, Scramnet, IEEE)
• environmental conditions (temperature chambers, vacuum chambers).
Our different series of rate tables reflect this diversity.
The RT1100 series are entry level rate tables. Accuracy is sufficient for basic applications on low level gyroscopes and accelerometers, and university research. These rate tables feature an L-shaped base that provides for easy vertical or horizontal mounting.
The ST1100 series provide state-of-the-art accuracy. They are used for high accuracy testing and calibration of gyroscopes, accelerometers, and inertial guidance systems.
The ST1300 series are high accuracy single axis rate tables mounted on a tilt bench.
Each series of rate tables comes in different versions. They can all accommodate temperature chambers and a wide range of connections.
Our simulator tables and rate tables use a unique design that provides key advantages:
• Direct Drive - all of our single axis rate tables use direct drive technology. These have replaced the old belt-driven rate tables. There are numerous advantages to direct drive, including less maintenance and more accuracy. Direct drive rate tables used to be more expensive than belt-driven ones but it is no longer the case.
• Brushless Technology allows for large servo bandwidth and high dynamic response. It also minimizes maintenance cost.
• Connection with payload - Electrical slip rings are available to connect stationary control hardware to the rotating test assembly.
• Safety - Our rate tables incorporate a number of safety features, both at hardware and software level.
• Controller - We only make digital control systems, using industrial grade programmable controllers or the Axidyn ND controller for best accuracy and real-time profile control.
• Remote Interfaces - Optional remote interfaces are available: Ethernet, IEEE 488, RS232, or high speed Scramnet.
We also provide the following accessories for operation with our motion simulators:
• Climatic chambers with either mechanical or liquid gas refrigeration
• Thermal vacuum chambers for space simulation and long duration testing
